James Reimer stopped 49 shots as the Toronto Maple leafs went into the Scotiabank Place in Ottawa and beat the Senators 5-0.
Phil Kessel had a goal and two assists as Toronto picked up their second straight and hold the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race one point and one place behind the Senators.
The Maple Leafs are 751.00 to win the Stanley Cup, with the Senators 601.00.
Trailing the Maple Leafs are the Washington Capitals who also grabbed a shutout knocking off the Montreal Canadiens 3-0. Alexander Semin scored on a penalty shot to wrap up the points and the victory midway through the third period as the Caps bounced back from two losses in their travels.

Washington returns home on Sunday to host the defending Stanley Cup champion Boston Bruins on Sunday afternoon.

Out west the Edmonton Oilers picked up their third straight with a 5-4 shootout victory over the Detroit Red Wings. Sam Gagner had two more goals and an assist to follow up his eight point game against the Chicago Blackhawks and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins picked up the winner in the extra time.
The Nashville Predators moved into second place in the Central division behind the Red Wings after defeating the visiting St. Louis Blues 3-1. Pekka Rinne was in fine form stopping 42 shots for the surging Predators.
