Walsh happy with Dildar

Ruby Walsh declared himself "very happy" with the performance of Paul Nicholls' newcomer Dildar at Taunton yesterday as the Triumph Hurdle picture became harder to read by the day.
Dildar - as we reported yesterday - has been brought into the Nicholls yard from the same French stable as last year's Triumph winner Zarkandar hails.
Walsh had no problems with the horse's performance despite his jumping looking moderate at best during yesterday's race. In the end his Flat race speed won it for him up the run-in but the Irish jockey sounded ultra-confident when reaching the winner's enclosure.

Walsh said: "He picked up really well after the last and we need to remember this was his first time out so his jumping was a bit 'novicey' and careful which is to be expected.
"He will improve a lot for that and the simple truth is he was always going to win the race. I am happy with him and impressed."
Dildar is now 778.00 to win the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham, while stablemate Pearl Swan is 7.00 and Sadler's Risk 6.50.
