Geraghty has faith in Finian's Rainbow

Barry Geraghty refuses to accept that Finian's Rainbow is a spent Cheltenham force following his defeat by Somersby in the Victor Chandler Chase.
He claims that: "It's just possible he may not yet be 100 per cent on his A game."

I'm sure my lad is better than the bare result because I'm not convinced that was him at his best.

The Irishman won't be at Cheltenham Trials day and admits it was hard to give up the opportunity of a horse he thinks very highly of - Broadback Bob - but claims he has good chances at 'Donny.'
However, Finian's remains very much on his mind and claims that after 'winging the fifth and sixth' he seemed to struggle a bit when he hit the front.
He added: "I didn't have a lot left when push came to shove as Somersby ran on to victory but I am sure my lad is better than the bare result because I'm not convinced that was him at his best."
Geraghty makes no bones about the fact he's pleased to see the withdrawal of Hold on Julio from today's Sky Net Chase believing it gives him a better chance of success on Shakalakaboomboom.
He said: "The absolute key to this horse performing to his best is the ground - the better it is, the better for him. He stays three miles really well as he showed over two furlongs further at Cheltenham in early December.
"It is possible the threat is Qianshan Leader but he needs the ground too."
The latest betting for the Cheltenham Gold Cup has Finian's Rainbow at 778.00 while Long Run can be backed at 2.75 and Weird Al at 12.00.
