Wenger cool over Rovers rout

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger refused to get too carried away by his side's magnificent seven against lowly Blackburn Rovers.
The Gunners routed their visitors 7-1 at the Emirates Stadium, with goal machine Robin van Persie netting a hat-trick and rising star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scoring twice.

I do not give much importance to the seven goals, it is just we won and played well.

However, Wenger was keen not to read too much into his side's victory, which moved them back up into fifth place in the Premier League table.
Arsenal are 1.03 to finish in the top four this season, while they are 1213.00 to win the FA Cup, having reached round five where they will travel to either Sunderland or Middlesbrough.
"I do not give much importance to the seven goals, it is just we won and played well," Wenger commented. "I felt that recently we had quite good performances, but did not get the results.
"Today we got the performance and the result, which is ideally what you want. We were mature and serious, we played together until the end."
Van Persie has now scored seven times in his last five games and 28 goals in all competitions for the Gunners already this season, while he has 22 in the Premier League this term.
