Roar not chasing McKay

Brisbane Roar coach Ange Postecoglou has said that there is no truth in media reports linking his club with a potential move for their former player and current Rangers midfielder Matt McKay.
Matt McKay is not returning to Brisbane Roar.It was recently reported in European press that Roar are keen to end McKay's frustrating spell in Scotland and bring him back to Australia.
But Postecoglou has poured cold water on the report by saying that they can't afford to sign him unless he is available for free.
"I'm not convinced Matty (McKay) wants to leave at the moment. There's not enough certainty there for us to pursue it, but we're working hard to bring someone in this period. If he becomes a free agent, we'd obviously have a look into it. From our point of view unless there's a clear indication he'd be released there's no point talking about it," Postecoglou said.
McKay had failed to hold down a regular first team place in the Rangers squad this season. He has been used only three times by the Glasgow giants even though he did look good in those appearances.
But the out-of-favour midfielder still wants to stay put and prove his worth to his Scottish employers. He was offered a way out by Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ittihad a few weeks ago but he chose not to go there.
Brisbane Roar are 2.62 to defeat Central Coast Mariners, who themselves are to 2.70 get the win. A draw between the two sides can be backed at 3.30.
