Chris Payne joined Newcastle Jets at the start of the A-League season but was selected by coach Gary van Egmond just once in the league.
As a result, the 21-year-old youngster has left the club citing a lack of first-team opportunities.

I will now look to further my career at a new club.

Payne played just once for the Jets in a match against Sydney FC late last year and his debut was only nine minutes long, after which he was not given any more opportunities.
The Jets are 3.80 to defeat Sydney FC, who themselves are 2.00 to get the win on Sunday. A draw between the two sides can be backed at 3.40.
He was signed by the club due to the promise he had shown with his former club North Queensland Fury, which was liquidated at the end of last season.
Now that his disastrous spell with the Jets has ended, Payne has set his sights on finding himself a new club in order to bring his career back on track.
"I am disappointed that due to a change in circumstances at Newcastle that my time at the club has been cut short and has not worked out the way that I planned. I want to wish the rest of the boys in the squad all the best, and I will now look to further my career at a new club and achieve my goals as I have a lot of ambition and can hopefully fulfil it with a new team," Payne said.
Before his Queensland Fury stint, Payne was on Sydney FC's books for two seasons, during which time he scored three times in 19 A-League appearances.
