Runaway A-League leaders Central Coast Mariners have announced that they have signed striker John Sutton on loan from Scottish side Hearts.
Sutton, whose elder brother Chris Sutton had a successful career in Britain, has linked up with the Mariners on a four-month loan agreement, although his stay in Australia could be extended by coach Graham Arnold.

We're looking forward to John coming out and adding not only another set of legs but quite a deal of experience for our front line.

The Mariners are 1.90 to defeat Brisbane Roar, who themselves are 4.00 to get the win on Saturday. A draw between the two sides can be backed at 3.40.
The Mariners lost their star striker Matt Simon to a Korean club recently and since then, have been on the lookout for an experienced replacement and it seems that they have finally found their man.
Arnold was informed of Sutton's qualities and availability by Craig Moore and the 28-year-old forward is scheduled to link up with his new team-mates next week. However, he is unlikely to play any part in next Friday's match against Melbourne Victory.
Speaking about his new recruit, Arnold said: "The exposure of giving him the opportunity to play in the A-League and also the ACL was very appealing to him. He comes with a very good pedigree in Scotland and he is a similar player to Matty Simon, someone that can make us play different if we need to play different.
"He comes out with a record of a goal every two-and-a-half to three games in Scotland and we're looking forward to John coming out and adding not only another set of legs but quite a deal of experience for our front line," he added.
