After Victoria inflicted a comprehensive 186-run defeat over South Australia in their Sheffield Shield match at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, captain Cameron White heaped praise on opening batsman Rob Quiney, who scored centuries in both the innings of the match.

Robbie had a fantastic game.

Quiney's twin centuries enabled Victoria to pile up a total score of 668 runs in both the innings, which the Redbacks were unable to match.
NSW are 1213.00 to win the 2011/12 Ryobi Cup, while Victoria are 1213.00.
The 29-year-old batsman scored 114 and 119 in consecutive innings and was clearly at the top of his game, which earned him his captain's plaudits.
White believes that Quiney's 225-run partnership with youngster Peter Handscomb was the prime reason behind their resounding defeat of the Redbacks.

"The coach threw out the challenge to the senior guys to put their hand up and lead with a lot of inexperience in the team and Rob Quiney really did that with the bat," White said.
"Our only real hiccup was when we were 1-0 in the first over (of the match) and then it went reasonably smoothly from there - which was pleasing - clearly on the back of Robbie Quiney and Peter Handscomb in the first innings who set the game up.
"Robbie had a fantastic game, is really in form at the moment and pushing his case for higher honours.
"He's always had the game, he showed that with his shots and talent in the Big Bash and now he's on top of the runs corers in Shield cricket (686 at 52.76).
"He's really improving and playing well against spin now as well, which probably may have been a slight criticism of him in the past, so I think he's ready and they (Australian selectors) should put him in."
