Hodge criticises Aussie selectors one last time

After recently ending his glittering domestic career with Victoria Bushrangers, Brad Hodge decided to have one final go at Australian selectors for ignoring him for years.

Selection has puzzled me for a number of years and it continues to puzzle me and continues to puzzle the public.

Even though there are two more matches remaining in this season's Ryobi Cup competition, Hodge decided to call it quits so that he could be available for next month's Bangladesh Premier League.
Australia are 4.50 to win the 2015 World Cup while India are 5.00 and England are 8.00.

Hodge had been one of the elite batsmen on the domestic Australian circuit for many years but he was never fancied by senior team's selectors, which is why he managed to play only six test matches and 25 one day internationals for his country at the highest level.
For Australia's upcoming two-match T20 series against India, the national selectors handed recalls to veterans like Brad Hogg and Brett Lee but Hodge was once again overlooked, leaving him mystified.
"I'm puzzled. Turn my clock back maybe six years ago when I was 31 and told that I couldn't play one day cricket for Australia because I wouldn't make the next World Cup side and that was four years later and I'm 35 and still playing my best cricket. I wish the selectors that are involved now were involved back then because I might have had half a sniff," Hodge said.
"Selection has puzzled me for a number of years and it continues to puzzle me and continues to puzzle the public. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me anymore but having said that, it doesn't bother me one little bit anymore either," he added.
